In winter, it’s important to remember that proper ventilation in your home is essential to prevent the growth of mould. While it may be tempting to keep your windows and doors closed to keep the cold air out, this is can lead to a build-up of moisture and humidity, which creates the perfect environment for mould to thrive.
Mould can cause a range of health problems, including respiratory issues. Fortunately there are some simple steps you can take to prevent mould growth and keep your home healthy and comfortable this winter.
Firstly, make sure to open your windows throughout your home each day. This will allow fresh air to circulate and prevent moisture from accumulating. Additionally make sure you use extractor fan or keep a window open in the bathroom when showering and use the kitchen rangehood fan when cooking, to remove excess moisture from the air.
