7 individuals including SGCH customers were given the opportunity to complete 9 units in their Horticulture course delivered by TAFE NSW over 15 weeks.

During these weeks there were plenty of practical sessions involved where the group spent their time giving the garden a makeover and this is where they were able to put the skills they learned in class, into action – often persevering in the heat!

The group had a variety of tasks from weeding and mulching the space, planting sensory focused plants, hedge trimming and re gravelled the paths throughout. One of our customers Karen even took it upon herself to water the garden every Thursday and Saturday to ensure their hard work didn’t go undone.

SGCH are very grateful for their hard efforts and the space they have created for the community to enjoy.
