NSW Housing Minister Rose Jackson and Georges River Councillor Ash Ambihaipahar came along to our ROAR BBQ at Riverwood. They joined in on the local ROAR community discussions and customers took the opportunity to ask questions about housing, all while being serenaded by customers on guitar and harmonica and enjoying a sausage sizzle. It was lovely to see the Minister and one of our Local MPs who grew up in the area mingling with our customers, taking photos and engaging in our ROAR discussions.
ROAR groups meet every Thursday to discuss anything related to the local community. In partnership with SGCH, Pacific Building Management Group and Morton, with SGCH and DCJ volunteers, this is an opportunity for participants to ask questions, discuss concerns or raise matters they need help with.
On Fridays, the ROAR group gathers for a free BBQ sausage sizzle for the community.
Margaret who is part of the ROAR group and cooks the BBQ sausage sizzle every Friday said: “It was a fantastic day, it’s like meeting old and making new friends. It was wonderful that the Minister came and took the effort to make it extra special.”
