The Bonnyrigg Community Reference Group (CRG) meets every two months to discuss and guide the estate renewal project. The CRG’s members include social housing tenants, private residents and representatives from SGCH, Fairfield City Council (FCC), the NSW Government’s Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC), Traders In Purple, Bonnyrigg Plaza and local service and cultural organisations.
Most recently, the CRG has had a focus on safety and residents led a walk around the suburb with Council and LAHC staff to identify and develop solutions to some current issues.
To this end, SGCH will continue to work with and promote the services Bonnyrigg residents need to use to keep their neighbourhood safe and looking attractive:
- If you would like to book in a council clean-up collection, please visit Fairfield City Council’s Waste and Recycling page. For any rubbish dumping, please report this on the Fairfield City Council website or call on 9725 0222.
- If you notice any suspicious activities, contact the Police assistance line on 131 444. For emergencies, please call 000. Think you should let SGCH know? Please contact us on 1800 573 370.
Please utilise these services and share this information with your neighbours.
Currently the CRG is looking at the social outcomes of the SGCH Place Plan, which has been developed with community input from surveys and consultation. The CRG is also building stronger connections with other groups convened by SGCH, such as the language groups for Arabic, Assyrian, Vietnamese and Khmer speakers, as well as the Bonnyrigg Youth Collective.
The CRG is currently chaired by LAHC and if you are interested in becoming involved please contact Deb on 0423 780 159. We would particularly like to hear from any private homeowners or renters who might be interested in being involved.
