Changes to the way some Social Housing rent is calculated - update

7 October 2022

In June we sent a letter or SMS to our Social Housing customers explaining some upcoming changes to the way we calculate rental subsidies.

This is a reminder that under the policy change from the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), a small number of customers who earn over the moderate income limit will start to pay between 25-30% of their assessable gross income plus 100% of any Commonwealth Rent Assistance as their rent to SGCH.

This change will not take place until after the September 2022 rent review. If your rent is changing, we will contact you directly to discuss the changes and answer any questions following the rent review process.

If you would like to, you can read the letter and FAQs here.
