Bonnyrigg Youth Collective took part in Clean Up Australia Day on 5 March – this is an initiative they nominated as important and identified that they would like BYC to be a part of.  

Members met at SGCH Bonnyrigg office, where they were provided with the necessary items such as gloves and rubbish pickers.  Then the BYC and SGCH staff joined forces to walk together around Bunker Park, Tarlington Park and various streets in Bonnyrigg to collect and dispose of any dumped rubbish items. 

It was the first time some BYC members had taken part in this activity and one reported, “I enjoyed the day and giving back to the community”.

The BYC team filled more than 20 garbage bags and identified dumped shopping trolleys filled with rubbish that were then collected.
